Corralejo, Fuerteventura

The island of Fuerteventura, south of Lanzarote, is known for its huge beaches that run along its eastern coast. Corralejo is a pleasant city quite concentrated on tourism. Lots of pizzerias...
But this is really not the place we wanted to go to when we left Puerto Calero. In fact, we were aiming for Las Palmas in Gran canaria. The first couple hours, there was a nice north-east wind and suddenly, between the islands, the wind went away totally. This lasted a while. We had to turn on the engine. But Ludo didn't stand it for long, he decided to go to Corralejo for the night and decide whether we really wanted to do the trip with the engine or whether we waited for the wind to come back..
We spent the night anchoring which was a mistake. It was very uncomfortable, and every three hours, a huge ferry turned around 20 meters from our boat's bow. Not a good feeling.
We left the port with a bit of northern wind, but we had to motor all the way as feared. Ho well. It was only 18 hours. It wasn't too bad.
